Is wearing high heel shoes wearing you down?

Do you love wearing high heels but hate how they make you feel? What price is your body paying for the trendy shoes?

While comfortable shoes are making a comeback, high heel shoes are still extremely popular.

Seventy-two percent of women wear high heels at some point, and almost 50 percent of women between the ages of 18 and 25 wear high heels on a daily basis.

As the heels get higher, more pressure is put on the balls of your feet. As your body adjusts to this pressure, you change your posture. Changing posture can result in your calf, hip and back muscles tensing up.

Adam Kelonsky, a podiatrist at the NYU Langone Medical Center, said to think of your feet like the foundation of a house.

“As time goes by, the house on the uneven foundation will start to get some cracks and warping. Eventually, the doors may not close properly."

High heel shoes aren’t the enemy as long as you take care of your body after you wear them.

If you love being healthy as much as you love looking fashionable, let me rub some of your pain away today!
